Windows 10: Windows 10 Camera App Error Code - Can't start your camera

I have an HP Pavillion All-In-One Touch with a built in webcam. I haven't needed to use the Windows camera app before now. I've spent 2 days trying to fix the error code. I've included a screen shot below of what appears when I open the app. I've searched the forums for this code. I've searched the internet. I've uninstalled and installed the app. I've uninstalled and installed the built-in camera device/software. I've updated the drivers even though they didn't need updating. I know the camera is working. I participated in a live internet meeting and my then smiling face was visible yesterday. I need to do a series of videos for a project due no later than Sunday. I have no clue where to go from here. Does anyone out there have an idea of how to fix this? Granted, I'm technologically challenged but it shouldn't be this freaking hard to get an official MS app to work. Thank you.

check the camera privacy settings, kindly follow the steps below:

• Click Start.
• Click Settings.
• In search box in upper right, type webcam.
• Click Camera privacy settings.
• Check that Let apps use my camera toggle is On.

Compatibility could be one of the probable reasons why you have this error. What we can suggest is for you to run the hardware troubleshooter. You can follow the steps below:

• Click the magnifying glass icon beside the Windows start menu.
• Type Troubleshooting.
• Select Hardware and Sound.
• Click Hardware and Devices from the options list.
• Click Next to run the Hardware and Device Troubleshooter.

Success in resetting Store; that produced a download of the Windows camera, despite seeing error message again, download proceeded. Screen shows MS app for Windows camera and indicates downloaded. (Camera now listed in app list.) But when Launch was selected,
no action after screen with camera icon. Eventually message appeared " something went wrong: here is message code if needed: 0x400F4271>MediaCaptureFailedEvent>0xC00D3704. We seem to be moving ahead a step at a time. Next suggestion?
