Windows 10: Windows 10 Camera - <no cameras attached>; Camera not found

Well...I have no idea what happened here but I have no camera, no access, no nothing! I have tried every link from Windows, Microsoft and HP and downloaded and shut down, restarted etc. I have tried everything I can and given access to everything I can. Still nothing. I can't do any video chat! I can't use Skype. I can see them but they can't see me and they have to initiate the video chat from their end but they still can't see me. Anyone else have this happen and what to do??? My cat walked across the keyboard once and ever since the camera has been missing. Help, please!

Change the camera that the Windows 10 camera app uses.

Unintuitively, the icon in the upper left that looks like it's meant to switch between your front and back camera will also cycle through your other attached cameras. At least, this worked for me on a Surface Pro 4 (front and rear camera) with a USB Microsoft LifeCam attached. The Camera application's version is listed as 2018.227.30.1000.

To apply the registry files just double click on each one.

If you open the start menu and type in CAMERA and then the app comes back with the message "We can't find your camera" then you might need to check the driver that serves your camera device. Is your camera listed in the >settings > devices area?
