Windows 10: Windows 10 Chinese Home edition

We have installed Windows 10 Chinese Home edition on one of our computers to test our app.


I have an MSDN subscription which offers product keys for hundreds of versions of windows, but not that one.


How can we activate that windows installation ?

Upgrade or change Windows 10 Home chinese edition to a normal Windows 10 Home

Not sure about what it should come installed with. But it came with Windows 10 Home Chinese Edition. So this is what I did to get this sorted out.

Step 1. Download the Media Tool as suggested.

Step 2. Create an ISO/USB drive with Windows 10 Home Single Language Pack by selecting the English Option

Step 3. Start the installation. Point to note to select get latest update during the installation else it will ask for a Key.

Step 4. Once the installation is done, the Surface is now in English and just follow the prompts till everything is running.

Step 5. Skip the part where it asks for the Key or wants to activate Windows

Step 6. Open Settings -> Update & Security -> Activation

Step 7. Check if the windows is activated or not. If not activated there will be an option to troubleshoot the activation issue.

Step 8. Windows will automatically activated the Surface to the correct Edition.

Windows 10 issue: Chinese language popup

I suggest you to change the Keyboard language and check if it helps.

Please follow below steps.

• Type Language in the search bar.
• Launch Edit Language and Keyboard Options from the search list.
• Under Languages look for the list of language.
• If you are able to find out the Chinese language, right click on the language and Remove it.

Microsoft Officially Announces the Windows 10 "China Government" Edition

Will this edition be Chinese language only, or can we expect to see Chinese computers with this O.S. listed on fleabay next year in English language?
