    Windows 10 clean install


    Hey guys im confused about the whole windows 10 thing i just upgraded my windows 8.1 to windows 10 though controlpanel reserved and all, but now i got activation problems, but i aint to worred about that right now, my main question is i want to clean install windows 10, but how should i do that, shall i just download the media to a usb and just install it or what will the right way be to do it ?

    We understand that you are facing performance issue and are unable to reset your computer. Just to verify, what version of Windows operating system did you try to reinstall?

    For help to get this issue fixed, we recommend that you refer to Recovery options in Windows 10
    , then follow the steps provided under the Use installation media to restore or reset your PC as this the most effective way to restore your Windows 10.

    Thanks for clarifying.

    I want to reinstall Windows 10 AND also make sure that the disk is fully cleaned (as I am about to sell the PC).

    Based on your reply, I downloaded the fresh install tool and proceeded - it worked fine and I have a clean install of Windows 10 now.

    However, I don't think this will have fully cleaned the files from the disk. It only took 1 hour or so to do the clean install so I think it probably just deleted the file locations register not the files themselves.

    How do I make sure the hard disk has had all the files deleted from it?

    I think you do need to worry about not activating. I think you'll need to be activated to clean install and activate after the install?

    IIRC, the Windows Insiders were told they'd eventually get an .ISO (I hope I'm not wrong about that). When that happens, I'm sure it would become available one way or the other.

    As mentioned earlier, you're going to need to get that activation issue resolved anyway.
