Windows 10: Windows 10 Clean Install

I recently was having issues with my laptop, which had been updated from Windows 7 to Windows 10 back when MS first offered the free upgrade to Windows 10. I tried doing a repair and loading new drivers, etc., etc. Since everything I tried to fix the various issues and errors didn't resolve anything and actually seemed to be making it worse, I decided to do a clean install of windows 10. When I did the clean install I discovered that the install did not properly identify all of my hardware components and applied generic drivers instead of the correct drivers and in a couple of cases id didn't install any driver. Does anyone know of any applications that can review the hardware on a laptop, identify it correctly and apply the correct drivers for the hardware components?


I really don't want to have to manually do that for each item, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Clean Install Workaround for Vista

You may remember this news story on techPowerUp! a couple of days ago relating to the lack of clean installs when using the Upgrade Editions of Vista, which required an old OS to be installed. However, Paul Thurrott has managed to find a workaround for this issue, which ironically lets users do a clean install Vista without any previous version of Windows, albeit a little tedious. Here are the steps:

• Boot from the Windows Vista Upgrade DVD as normal
• When prompted for a product code, leave this blank
• Select the version of Vista you have purchased and let Vista install
• When you boot to your desktop for the first time, run the Vista setup from Windows
• This time enter your product key
• When asked whether you want to do an Upgrade of Custom install, select custom and choose a clean install
• Windows will now install for a second time and you should be able to activate it

Remember, these steps are only advised for use in order to achieve a clean install of Vista, it is only legal to use the upgrade editions if you have previously purchased the appropriate version of Windows.

Clean Windows 10 (?PRO?) install

I have bought a legit "Windows 10 Pro" key of a key website. It is legit since i'm currently using it for over a year now. I currently have Windows 10 Pro installed on my PC and I want to do a clean install. I just can't find the windows 10 Pro download in the tool. But if i could use a windows 10 pro key with a normal windows 10 install, I'll be good to go.
