    Windows 10 completely locking up

I just upgraded to a new motherboard, cpu, ram and installed an ssd to install Windows on. After a fresh install on the ssd the computer will freeze completely, I can't move my mouse or use my keyboard and I'm forced to force restart my pc.

I've done a memtest to check if my ram is causing an issue and the test didn't flag any issues.

I've updated my bios to the latest version.

I've reinstalled windows a couple of times just in case it didn't install properly.

I've been trying to install the latest windows updates but it often freezes before I can finish downloading the updates.

It should be noted that at random times it may crash with the error CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT.

I really don't want to go back to my old motherboard because it would be a waste of an upgrade.

    :)

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Thanks for the suggestions and for the time to respond Windows 10 completely locking up :) Best regards.

And thanks for the tip of that program, I'll have it on my list.
