Windows 10: Windows 10 Corrupted / Damaged

A few times now I have had a (or what looks like) a Windows notification to say that it is damaged and I need to carry out instructions to avoid my files being deleted. There is a countdown timer and a high pitched beeping that is really annoying.


I think it is spam but, I may be wrong?


How do I tell if there is something wrong with my system, how do I know if it is from a trusted source?


Is there something I can run from Microsoft Windows site to check myself?


To the best of my knowledge all updates are installed.

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

DTS supported natively by Windows 8/8.1 and it should work on windows 10 too just DDL require to unlock your driver .

In post 26 there were steps listed to fix the operating system corruption.
Are you able to follow them?
In post 29 was the suggested dism repair command.
