Windows 10: Windows 10 crash

Hi.


Need urgent help with a problem which the forums have not managed to help with much.


Laptop: Dell Inspiron - 4 GB RAM, 1 TB hard disk 6 years old


History: I moved from Windows 7 to Windows 10 in December 2020. Everything worked great till the "Feature Update to Windows 10, version 20H2" on 6th January, 2021.


Since then, every time I try to shut my computer down, it crashes blue screen with error "PNP DETECTED FATAL ERROR".


Now it has also started crashing in between work, with error "REFERENCE BY POINTER".


I ran Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool and everything is alright. I also ran CHKDSK for each of my drives, and the result is all good.


Windows is up to date is all the latest updates. So are my DELL drivers.


In problem signature, extra information about the problem, Bucket ID says: 0xCA_5_IMAGE_ntkrnlmp.exe.

I suggest you run rthdribl > http://www.daionet.gr.jp/~masa/archives/rthdribl_1_2.zip
Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.
What happens?
If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.

P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
Stuttering sound or no sound at all when freezing?
What X1800XT model do you own exactly?

• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”

all games crash!

ive watch my temps and both the cpu and gpu are within normal ranges. when it freezes it simply freezes the image and stops the sound. i must reboot to get back to windows.
