Windows 10 cumulative security update KB4467702 and KB4483234 cause wifi adapter connection...

I have an Edimax EW-7811Un wifi adapter for my Windows 10 PC. I noticed starting with the November cumulative update (KB4467702) that once installed, wifi would lose connection intermittently. I would run the connection troubleshooter, it would reconnect, and then about 2-3 minutes later, it would lose connection and cycle would begin again. Eventually running the troubleshooter enough times, it would never reestablish a connection. Resetting the router did nothing. I have tried updating the adapter's drivers to no avail.

Once I discovered the update was the root cause, I uninstalled it and internet would work as normal with no connection issues.

In December, KB4483234 caused the exact same issues as November KB4467702. October KB4462919 is the last update not to cause this issue.

Is there something I can do to remedy this?

What, in the cumulative updates, is causing this?

    Thank you

    :)

    problems downloading & applying updates KB4023057 & KB4467702

I get these recurrent errors in Windows Update --

    • 2018-11 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1803 for x64-based Systems (KB4467702) - Error 0x80070015
    • 2018-12 Update for Windows 10 Version 1803 for x64-based Systems (KB4023057) - Error 0x80070015

I stumbled on this resource (WAY too unintuitive to find that, Microsoft! It should be linked visibly in
    Windows Update) --

    Microsoft Update Catalog

...where I was able to successfully download other updates which also produced recurrent errors EXCEPT NOT
    KB4023057 and KB4467702 --

    • KB4467702 I could download and run the installer and it repeatedly tells me my system doesn't need that item, even after restarting the system. Then WHY does
Windows Update think I need it?
    • KB4023057 - is absent in Microsoft Update Catalog
