Windows 10: Windows 10 December Update Problem KB4530684

My 2017 Surface Pro installed the above update on Wednesday and restarted fine, and i used it for the rest of the day. Then, it would not turn back on on Thursday.


It's stuck in startup 'preparing bitlocker recovery'. It shows that for about 5 seconds, then goes blank. Then it shows it again.


I've taken it to a repair shop but they cant get it out of the startup loop, and theyve said they know a few other repair shops reporting the same problem after this update, as well as other issues with surface books since the above update.


Has anyone had the same issue? Does anyone have any advice?

When attempting install the KB4530684 cumulative update I get a error 0x800f0813.

Hello, I have had this failure now for about a month, I am unable to install 2019-12 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1909 for x64-based Systems (KB4530684). It gives me the pending restart status and I restart, it goes to start back up, and says
"Undoing changes" and restarts again. I have tried to use the update catalog to manually install it, and it says it is not compatable. I need a list of a lot of different things to do, as I have deleted everything in update cache and what not.

• Was the update installed without interruption?
• Have you tried System restore?

If you have tried system restore and didn't help. I would suggest you to recover the files and folders from the third party software.
