  1. Windows 10 defaulted to Windows 7 after Device_Power_state_failure

I had upgraded Windows 7 Ultimate to Windows 10 about 7-8 months back. Yesterday, Windows 10 threw a Device_Power_State_Failure and gave the BSOD. I rebooted the computer (desktop) and have been having issues since.

Opened the hardware and gave it a thorough cleaning. Windows 10 is no longer available. The OS options at startup show me Windows XP (installed on separate hard disk) and Windows 7 as the two options. Windows claims that it is not a genuine copy. No programs are working, including control panel, help & support etc. No idea where to enter the Windows 7 code and start to recover the Windows 10.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance

    :)

  3. DEVICE_POWER_STATE_FAILURE

One of the many things that does no longer work properly under Windows 10 is now booting. I have become used to the mail program not working properly - with me it is the login account which is hotmail/outlook and, according to Microsoft, cannot be deleted
and then re-instated - but now, in this vaunted operating system, when I login I get the error DEVICE_POWER_STATE_FAILURE. It does not tell me which device driver is causing the problem but as Microsoft is now installing software without due regard to what
is already on the system, is probably due to them.

If anybody has any idea a to what can be causing this problem - DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE - or how to find out which driver it is I would be grateful to know.

If anybody has another working mail client which can work with multiple email accounts I would also like to know.

    Many thanks.

  6. I downloaded Windows 10 Installation file ISO and made a bootable USB. Booted using the USB and did a Startup Repair. Everything is fine now and Windows 10 is back..
