Windows 10: Windows 10 Desktop is missing after format.

I recently formatted one of my hard drives and I forgot that my default desktop folder/directory was in that drive. Now, every time I start my laptop a pop-up window appears stating that my desktop is missing. Is there anyway I can create a new desktop folder/directory?

• Did you do a clean installation of Windows or upgrade to Windows 10?

I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if you can find your desktop files.

• Open This PC.
• Double click on C: drive.
• Open Users > double click on your user name.
• Open Desktop and check if you can find missing files.

Windows 10 formatting ?

But he already went to 10, so it's already tied to his hardware no?

To that end, he would only need to create the install media from the MS website, format upon installation and activate. There shouldn't be a need to to 10 since he is currently there and activated. See post 3...


Or.. did I miss something? If he's on 7, can you still get 10 free if you didn't activate it before that expired?

Edit: You have to use the assisted technology to get it free now... a bit shady to me if you aren't using that tech. That way you'd have to upgrade to 10.. then format and reinstall for a clean install.

 

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx
