Windows 10: Windows 10 enterprise. What Advantages Does it have? and upgrade ques.

I've received an email from Microsoft (i was part of the first group to test windows 10) saying i could download windows 10 enterprise for 90 days. (along with 8, 8.1, and another OS 'which had no time limit') i was wondering two things. 1.)When the 90 days expires can i downgrade to the regular 10 OS? 2.) what advantages does enterprise have over the regular edition of Windows 10. (my new laptop arrives monday, following the specs on this account, but i am wanting to upgrade my 7 due to the fact it is well powerful enough to run 10.)

To add to Ravi's response, the apps in Windows 10 will work on any other Windows device. While the App store doesn't have as many apps as Apple or Samsung, Microsoft is solving that problem by a) allowing apps to be created once for all devices and b) creating
better feel and integration of apps and the app store in Windows 10. I think you'll see more well known apps migrate to Windows soon. Also, the Windows 10 start menu is everything it should have been in 7, 8 and even 8.1. There are also some UI upgrades that
improve the look and feel over previous versions of Windows, but of course this is subjective and nothing I've seen seems to be "significant". Lastly, for the time being it's free. You get the aforementioned features without having to pay anything out of pocket.
If you perceive even the slightest bit of value from any of these things then you have a case for upgrading to Windows 10 while it remains free.

All anyone can offer is vague notions of what they think may be a benefit to you unless you are specific. Perhaps if you describe what matters to you then someone else can weigh in on whether that's been improved or not. There may be no reason you should
care about upgrading. Change without benefit is, well, unbeneficial.

Thanks, but this is just a bland sales pitch which doesn't really tell me an awful lot.

I actually found that my machine booted more slowly with Windows 10, a lot more slowly in fact. I tried Edge and could not find any advantages over IE. What do you mean by "Your personal files and apps you’ve installed will all be waiting for you"? I have
them now.

My question was "what advantages does Windows 10 offer to me?" i.e. "Why should I upgrade?," not "how easy is it to upgrade". You seem to be confirming that there are no advantages to moving to Windows 10, or am I missing something?

Remember I am talking about advantages to me; something new or better that would help me which I was unable to find in Windows 10.

You will have to re-install your correct OS, there is no way to "downgrade".

 

Enterprise is heavily gear towards medium to large size companies. You can usually only buy enterprise through vendor/site licensing kind of deal, (not 100% sure on this). Home is meant for homes they have all of the advanced features most people would ever need. It is in no way a slower, or low end version of windows, it's just lack not meant to be managed from a central location, and thus does not need the extra features offer by Pro/Ent.

Windows 10 PRO is for homes, business, schools, enthusiast. Windows professional gives you the ability to join domains, gpo, Bitlocker, remote desktop, defer updates for a limited time.

Windows enterprise versions are usually meant to be manage using AD that is usually setup with a Windows Server OS. This allows a system administrator to control things like the start screen, applocker, and control the updates as well. You really only benefit out of this when you have a system admin. This is a large subject that you can learn more about specific details by searching online or asking Cortana *Wink

I wouldn't bother downloading it!

 

thank you, as stated above i was able to roll back to a previous version during testing, thank you for clarifying that i am no longer able to switch to the basic after the trial. are you good with 7? the upgrade troubleshooter claims i don't have win7sp1 installed, but i do. enough power to upgrade too. i can't find anything online.
