Windows 10: Windows 10 Enterprise wont update, need to downgrade to Windows 10 Pro

I'm trying to "downgrade" to windows 10 pro and have a purchased Win 10 Pro CD key but I cannot seem to find a way to downgrade enterprise. I had my school install it for me big mistake and was unaware they gave me an Enterprise edition on my private computer. Now I cannot update the .NET Framework or to Windows 10 1909, it keeps giving me Install Error 0x80092004 on the .NET Framework. Please help.

Luckily, you can quickly downgrade from Windows 10 Enterprise to Windows 10 Pro by just changing the product key to the one for Pro.

The procedure is a bit arcane, but I have managed to convert an Enterprise Evaluation to Pro, doing it in two steps: EnterpriseEval to Enterprise (unactivated); then Enterprise (unactivated) to Pro. Details here.

Well, at the moment at least, you can choose to defer upgrades. Under Settings > Windows Updates > Advanced options you need to check the box labeled "Defer upgrades". What does that do? Good question. The answer I've found might illuminate it to a degree.

I hear this only applies to Pro and Enterprise editions. But I can't verify that.
