Windows 10: Windows 10 error code 0x80070005 (ACCESS DENIED)

I was trying to download Python 3.8 from the Microsoft Store and encountered the error code 0x80070005 near the end of the download. I looked it up and it brought me to this forum post.


I tried SubInACL and it didn't work. I then tried AccessChk even though I was using Windows 10. I then figured out that I needed to open the regular command prompt and type in three lines.


The first was:

cd Desktop


The second was:

cd AccessChk


The third was the one stated in the other post:

"accesschk.exe -s -n "nt service\trustedinstaller" -k "hklm\software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Component Based Servicing" >accesskchk.txt


That ended up working, and when I checked accesschk.txt, and here is a link to what I found. Hopefully, when someone responds to this post my issue will be fixed!


Note: please don't show this to unauthorized people. This is sensitive info about what is on my computer. Also, no hacker is going to hack you if you click any of the links (hopefully).

Error code 0x80070005 generally occurs if access is denied. Suggest you to try creating new user account and check if Store works fine on that.
