Windows 10: Windows 10 ethernet bridge on Hyper-V not functional

Hello,


I need ethernet bridge on Win 10 Professional for testing purposes.

My Hyper-V server has two Win 10 virtual machines and two virtual switches the first switch is external and second one is private.

The first Win 10 has two virtual adapters the first adapter is connected to external virtual switch and second one is connected to private virtual switch.

Win 10 which need to access through network bridge has only one virtual adapter connected to private virtual switch.


Both adapters in first Win 10 are bridged but bridge is not functional. I cannot ping from second Win 10. ARP requests does not receive responses.

I have disabled windows firewall on both virtual machines. I tried to change network profile (public/private) on both bridged adapters, no success.

Connectivity between both machines through private virtual switch I verified. I can ping from network bridge to second Win 10 and vice versa but I cannot ping from second Win 10 to LAN.

Hyper-V Network Adapter Bridge Mode?


I'm running successfully running Android BlueStacks in a Hyper-V machine and have network connectivity through the host adapter. However, one Android app I run does not fully function because it believes the device is not on the same subnet as the actual host machine. Someone on another forum indicated that the host adapter needed to be in bridge mode, thus ensuring that the virtual machine is on the exact subnet as the host and other device attached to the router. They suggest using something busybox for the VM and set the network adapter to bridge mode, but I really don't want to add that to my machine.

So the question is: does Hyper-V provide a bridge mode setting for the (virtual) network adapter?

The Hyper-V role cannot be installed on:

Hyper-V lets you run an operating system or computer system as a virtual machine on Windows. Before proceeding in disabling
Hyper-V, please create a backup of your files for security purposes.

To disable Hyper-V, please follow the steps below:

• On the Cortana search box, type Turn Windows Features on or off and press
  Enter.
• Look for the Hyper-V folder.
• Uncheck the tick-box next to the main Hyper-V folder and click
  OK.
• Restart your PC.
