    Windows 10 explorer.exe crash, freeze, restart. hang?

    For second and LAST time, I am trying to make windows 10 works with my PC, I upgraded RAM from 4GB to 8GB, coz I thought it could be reason.

    Windows 10 explorer.exe will restart itself, taskbar also, pc will hang, pc will restart itself, etc.

    What I found:

    Code: The program explorer.exe version 10.0.10240.16404 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Security and Maintenance control panel. Explorer.exe / Start Menu Freezing/Crashing/Restarting

    I've been having constant issues with explorer.exe crashing/restarting. My start menu just freezes and nothing responds. However if I click like a madman enough it restarts automatically, sometimes I have to restart explorer.exe from task manager. Any
    ideas? Google has come up useless. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. I use Avast Anti-Virus and a couple of other apps on start-up. Happens on both my laptop and desktop computers.

    Windows file explorer only displays in maximized view

    When I open file explorer it opens in maximized view but when I minimize the window it shrinks to a very small windows and freezes and then crashes. Explorer.exe has to restart in order for the window to open back in maximized view again.

    Has this happen to anyone else?

  4. Windows 10 explorer.exe crash, freeze, restart. hang?

    I'm no geek but am trying to help

    have you checked Device Manager for missing drivers? looks like you have a couple of driver issues there

    Windows Media center should have been deleted when windows was installed...

    have you tried using Dism to check the health of the installation?
    press windows key and x key at the same time
    this will let you select command prompt as admin
    type "Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth" (without quotes note the space before each /) press enter
    let it run
    snip an image of results and post

    next type "Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth" (without quotes note the space before each /) press enter
    let it run
    snip an image of results and post

    next type "Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth" (without quotes note the space before each /) press enter
    snip an image of results and post

    the above dism steps are taken from Microsoft hopefully the restore health one will fix some of the issues
