Windows 10: Windows 10 failing to restart after blue screen

My new computer is about 3 months old and this is my first experience of Windows 10. I am finding that every so often, usually while powering off at the end of the day, a blue screen occurs and Windows tells me that it will collect the error data and restart. However, once the counter reaches 100% it just sits there and doesn't restart. Eventually I end up hitting the switch. This is occurring about once a week - although it's done it twice this week. The latest error code was SYMEFASI64.SYS, but it is not always the same error. Having seen other reported problems, I suspect some interaction with my Norton software, but presumably this shouldn't cause the restart to fail.


Any suggestions as to likely cause?
