Windows 10: Windows 10 fails to backup with error code 0x800700E1

The title says it all. I have tried all the options given in: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...800700e1/0a75fdeb-27db-4d87-af10-f98e286bd389


I tried to check the cbs.log file but either I can't find it or it does not exist in the location specified.

Windows 10 Pro Backup Fails - error code 0x800700E1

I am running Windows 10 Pro on a Surface Pro 3; the tablet came with the O/S installed. I backup to an external drive on my network, and the backup continues to fail with error code 0x800700E1. I am backing up through Backup and Restore (Windows 7).
Is there a way to detect the file that is in error in order to successfully complete the backup? If not, is there another backup method I should use?
