On disk cleanup > un-check System created Windows error reporting
On update history > expand other > post image
Windows defender > perform manual updates > post an image if there are any failures
On device manager > right click PS/2 keyboard > uninstall device
On device manager > right click Microsoft PS/2 mouse > uninstall device
On system failure > check the box for write an event to the system log

After all of the above steps open Whocrashed > above analyze click on tools > crash dump test > type: ACCEPT
    Click analyze > confirm deaddead
Run the log collector and post a new zip into the thread:
    log collector v2-beta06.zip

When available post the latest Panther logs for troubleshooting.
After reviewing the most current logs for the next update I'll provide a checklist for you go through.

Ok I'll do this in the morning.
Right now I'm downloading and updating my music software as I have to provide some backing tracks for next gig and I started on this before your email.
Sorry about the name check - I'm slightly dyslexic

  5. I am astounded!!

My HP DV6 laptop, which crashed the original FCU Update, and had to be restored to 1703, then did not much better recently when I did the 1709 Upgrade using a Repair-Install from a mounted ISO file.

So, I figured the laptop was pretty much stuck at 1703 until another major version came out in the Spring.

And then tonight, the FCU was offered, I accepted it -- and a little over an hour later -- the laptop is up and running with NONE of the problems from the Repair-Install Upgrade.

    I am impressed!!

This is the fourth PC in less than a week that I upgraded on-line and the Upgrade came off without a hitch.

I have to admit it -- it looks like MS now has their act together regarding on-line version upgrades.

    Hi Zbrook,
I really, really, really am fed up with this failing update.
    My bios is upto date
The engineered crash failed to restart
The MS updates are still failing and I cannot see which one as it goes by too quickly and the failing ones are not shown on update history
I have collected the logfiles and attach them here
    Screenshots are in
    Dropbox - Screenshots
I shall not be able to do much on the PC today as I am looking after a 2.5 year old grandson who needs a lot of attention
I tried the update again and it failed at 57%
MS wonderful solution for failing updates is to install the latest version.
Talk about circular process as I cannot update to the latest 1709
My error of 0x8007001f 0x50015 has been reported by other people so the fault lies with MS whichever way you look at it.
It leaves a very bad taste
It's nearly 1AM here in the UK so I am calling it a day

    Hi Zbrook,
I removed all McAfee references by going into powershell and using rm command.
It was not to be seen in Apps but when I did a search with hidden files checked there it was in C: Program Files.
I then used Ccleaner to fix the registry.
I tried an update using the ISO file and used the search for updates.
It went to 95% completion before it crashed out.
I think the 57% completion is when I don't search for updates.
My little Grandson arrives shortly and so I shanll not have an opportunity to be on the PC until he has a nap late afternoon.

Run through the check list and indicate the information that you have about them.
Indicate which steps you had already done and which steps are new.

All of the items that need to be uninstalled can of course be reinstalled.

Open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:
    a) Lpksetup /u
When these have completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on edit then copy > paste into the thread

Open administrative powershell and type or copy and paste:
    a) Get-WinUserLanguageList
    b) Get-WindowsUpdateLog

Hi Zbook. I did everything in the checklist you sent but to no avail.
I do not have time for any more going round in circles.
    The problem lies with MS.
What I shall probably do is wipe my C: drive and reinstall windows 7 which works and doesnt have the same awful experience as Windows 10
    Thank you for your input.
The problem 0x8007001f x050015 is something MS should address as I am not the only person getting it.
I shall now spend some time reinstalling my HP printer software as I need to print some music sheets
