Windows 10: WINDOWS 10 FEATURE UPDATE 1903 AND 1909

I am facing problem in restarting my laptop after downloading the feature update 1903 and 1909. After the updates were completed, it shows the option for restart to complete the update. And I followed the same. But now the restart is taking too long. Inam waiting for more than 1.5 hours for the restart to complete. But it has reached only26℅. So please assist me for this problem. Tell me the reason or any solution for this problem.

Windows Update History shows both Feature Updates 1903 and 1909 installed

After I installed the Windows 10 Feature Update from 1903 to 1909 my Windows Update History shows

Feature Update to Windows 10, version 1903

Looking in the About page it lists Version 1909 OS Build 18363.720

In the past when I've installed a Feature Update it only shows the new update. In other words in this case it would only show 1909. Since it shows 1903 also is my computer really upgraded to 1909? Also the (2) after the 1909 is something I don't understand.

I would appreciate any help on this.

Do I need update 1903 to get update 1909?

It does get a little confusing, but 1909 is just an extension of 1903. It was not offered as an independent build upgrade but uses a few Cumulative Updates to get from 1903 to 1909.

Basically, if you install 1909, you are also installing the core of 1903..

Windows 10, versions 1903 and 1909 share a common core operating system and an identical set of system files. As a result, the new features in Windows 10, version 1909 were included in the recent monthly quality update for Windows
10, version 1903 (released October 8, 2019), but are currently in a dormant state. These new features will remain dormant until they are turned on using an
enablement package, which is a small, quick-to-install “master switch” that simply activates the Windows 10, version 1909 features.

 

Windows 10 1903 1909 repeated failure to update

Well would't you know it. I did everything, every step, all the suggestions, months of failed downloads and was going to wipe everything tomorrow and start again, but remembered I hadn't tried your suggestion of updating to 1809 before 1903/09, and blow
me down, but it's updated to 1809 with ease!

I have yet to dare to try and get it to update to 1909 but it's the 1st progress in months, so thanks.
