Windows 10 file explorer search finds files when you enter part of the name but then can't...

I know this question is redundant, but related threads seem to be locked. Please link any open related ones for visibility. This is a problem I have had at multiple workplaces. The current office I'm encountering it at is on Windows 10 Pro. When you search for files in a folder and its subfolders, certain files will show up when you enter a few characters that appear in their names, but if you enter larger strings from their file names, the same files will not show up.Here is one example I tried out today:Searching "C 11 24" returns a file with the string "Courtesy 11-13-24" in its file name.Ho

  2. File Explorer Search Not Working

I am trying to search in File Explorer (Windows Explorer, My Computer) and it will not find anything. I can copy text from a name in the list and paste it in the search box and it still finds nothing. I have looked at the suggestions that have been posted and nothing I find that is relative to this works. Anyone have any suggestions? I am running Win 10 Pro on an I3 coustom desktop computer.

  3. Search with part of file name

I'm trying to do a simple search. I have a few hundred files in a number of subfolders, and from the top level I'm just searching for part of the file name (in the top-right corner of Explorer) And it finds nothing.

Is there any setting I need to change?? How can i search with just a part of file name?

Windows 10 file explorer search finds files when you enter part of the name but then can't...

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
