    Hi,


    Im running a pretty old system 2600k, asrock z77 ex4 - I don't rule out a hardware failure mobo or psu but wanted to consult.


    The PC is booting one in 10/15 times - it freezes at loading circle dots and then shuts down. It boots in safe mode every time. I also do encounter random freezes then shutdowns. Did all stress tests for GPU, PCU, memtest and stuff. No failures.


    It tried unplugging all hdds, all usb, the PCIe Firewire extension, GPU, ran on one RAM dimm, changed it every boot - same

    Also tried with fresh install. Problem persisted. The only constant is the SSD drive.


    It sometimes just shuts down when trying to auto repair.


    Hard Disk Sentinel shows 840 Evo 240 GB:

    Also I did enable windows boot log, and it shows THOUSAND of BOOTLOG_NOT_LOADED many many maaany more than here

    Could the SSD be the problem? Mobo failing? PSU dying? Any way to troubleshoot it further?

    Windows boots to the desktop then freezes

    Yeah...I went to google and got the F8...lol*Stick Out Tongue Windows 10 freeze on boot/loading, random freezes, boots 1 in 10/15 times or in safe mode :p....thxxx

    It boots up in safe mode and seems to work fine. Now I just need to figure out what's causing windows to freeze up befor it fully loads in normal start up operation.

    Any suggestions where I might start ?

    [Help] Windows will not load with NVIDIA drivers installed...

    The problem started when I switched out my EVGA GTX280 and install my old EVGA 8800GT, and it's getting worse.

    Windows Vista x64 SP1, 190.xx WHQL driver and mobo bios F6h = random freeze when booted into Windows, if it doesn't freeze within 10 mins, it could run for days. And if I shutdown the computer for a night, it would happen again.

    Windows Vista x64 SP2, 191.xx WHQL and bios F9h . 9 out of 10 time, it couldn't boot into Windows with NVIDIA driver installed (freeze after the loading screen, black screen). It ran just fine if It passed the loading screen and happen again if I restart, shutdown the computer.

    Once I uninstall the driver using safe mode, it booted into Windows just fine. Rolled back to 190.xx = same thing.

    Only freezing, no bluescreen.

    Reset bios to fail-safe mode did not fix the problem.

    Any idea what's wrong? *Frown Windows 10 freeze on boot/loading, random freezes, boots 1 in 10/15 times or in safe mode :(

    Windows 7 on a laptop freezes after boot (in safe mode even during boot)

    A very old Toshiba laptop with Core Duo and Windows 7 after successful booting just freezes. Sometimes it would not even boot but show weird screen distortions and shut off by itself but most often
    it boots well, then freezes. Sometimes after freezing shuts off. I tried to check the disk from safe mode with checkdisk and after that it freezes even when put in safe mode (even before the desktop). I tried to restore it with the usb boot (upgrading to 10
    as I dont have a 7 copy) but it says can't perform, need windows to be booted (at least when I'm choosing to save files). Any help appreciated greatly!
