Windows 10: Windows 10 freeze

At least once a week, my mouse will freeze. Computer becomes completely inactive. One problem is that I do not get any error messages. So, it's not even a crash. It also does NOT say: Windows is updating, don't turn off. It just stays idle. The only thing I can do is turn off the power button, which Microsoft said is ok. Not sure it's really ok. Then I wait. The HP sign of my computer comes back. Then black screen. Still no message. Finally the welcome screen comes back. It's very disruptive. I have scheduled my updates at night and they should happen then. Now I;m checking the system. My "cra

Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
