Windows 10: Windows 10 freezes at random.

My Dell laptop windows 10 freezes randomly.

It starts without any problems, showing the new start up screens. Then it sometimes freezes not always straight away.

After I power down by pressing the power button and then power back up. I always get the old windows 10 cave start up screen appear.

Then it works okay quite often, although it has frozen once or twice during use after the restart.

All the drivers and bios are up to date, I have connected to the Dell website and ran all the diagnostic, all passed and checked for driver updates, all good.

I'm a bit lost, thank you for any suggestions.

Hrrmmmm... but wouldnt formatting and reinstalling windows fix the issue since the virus/trojan/spyware isnt on the system any longer?

Completely random freezing/shutdowns on a system with no recent hardware changes, and hard drive, memory, and PSU fine, usually means a software issue (file corruption or malicious software). I suggest following DavidV's recommendations.
