I do not understand "external" either. How can it be external? This is the smallest computer I ever owned. It is slim but everything is inside the tower. Where do I find this information about the computer? Is it on my computer somewhere?

Yea, HP no longer likes phone calls. That is very obvious. I have the number somewhere though.

Many companies outsource there support to other countries to save money. Most companies do this but have english speaking people.

Aha! Yes, I do have that! And it does say right on it "65w"!

Well, it should be easily replaceable then shouldn't it? Couldn't I buy another through HP or anywhere on the internet?

I only see this on smaller electronics, first for me and some Dell PC uses them. Not sure if you should jump to go buy it yet. You can investigate a price on say Ebay .Look for a model number on it.

Well, how would I do that? The model number would not be the same for a bigger wattage, right?

Do not look to buy anything, just look and it has to be right one. Model number should be right on it, i saw some already just looking but not for your model. HP would probably charge you and arm and a leg plus shipping.
    External 65 W (100V-240V) Total wattage: 65 W
    Output voltage: 19.5 V
    Output amps: 3.3

Have a good nite, do your inplace upgrade first !!

Windows 10 freezes up and I have to reboot

Last night before I went to bed I did the Windows 10 Repair Install. The computer ran great all day long until just a few minutes ago it froze up again. I am disappointed and concerned that if I do not return this computer right away that I could wind up being stuck with something that may never be fixed.

Earlier this evening I took another snapshot of this CPUID HW Monitor:

Example of why reinstalling windows is not always a cure when it maybe related to something else and some do not want to go through enough troubleshooting so they do this and in end result they still have the same issues.

Again everything seems fine to me as far as temperatures go the only thing i notice it low voltages as mentioned before. Power Supply issues will usually cause the PC to shutdown have power on /off issues, it may cause locks ups i still might not think this is it entirely.

When you take these temperatures what are you doing on the PC is it just idle ? Heat related issues may arise more when you are doing more, watching a movie, playing a game something using more resources. Needed to monitor it when you were doing more to see how it reacts in temps for this. Did you ever open the case to see if fans are working and no excess dust accumulation inside ?

Now that your reinstalled windows recheck all system drivers in the Device Manager are there, the same as before. They should of not been affected. This leads me to think as said before this might be a hardware issue or the drivers for them, Hardware testing would be the next step then. I am not sure what you want to do and how far you want to go or try to return it.

I never felt positive on how successful we were on updating your system drivers and troubleshooting in safe mode enough. When exactly was this bought as this is still an older model that came with either Windows 7 or 8 ?

Let me know if you want to go further with testing hardware as it can be number of things with that, from RAM, Motherboard, Hard Drive and Power Supply. Graphics card is integrated into the CPU and Motherboard as this would be a cause for symptoms like this to, but being integrated there is no way to remove it to test without it unless had a Slot card, which i do not think this system even has available especially with being such a low Power Supply. There is basically stress testing software for Graphic cards to see how they react.

Sad part is the bad phone support of HP.

Last night I screen printed that temp report during a time when I was busy on the computer for a while. Fans or overheating I do not think are the problem.

These computers are still being sold online brand new. I bought mine just this month. I learned something last night though. HP has limited their support to only warranted computers. How this works is that when a person goes to the HP website and allows HP to automatically detect their computer then HP populates the available support offered based on whether the computer is still under warranty or not under warranty. My computer is still under warranty. In order to see further support options I had to fill out a form with my name, email etc. Then I discovered that the HP website automatically displays the country of residence as Hong Kong!!! I had to SELECT the UNITED STATES. Can you believe that?

So anyway I did that last night and wound up talking to a very nice English speaking lady via a chat support (per my choice). She spent more than two hours with me and seemed quite happy to help me. What a blessing she was! There needs to be more people like her working in these computer support places. She accessed my computer by remote access and made changes including finding some drivers. HP-

This HP representative is phoning me tomorrow evening to see how the computer is doing. So far today it is has been just fine. I hope that it will continue to be fine. Perhaps a Windows 10 update did not install correctly in the beginning? Or other updates. As you said, could be a driver that needed updated.

Perhaps when I phoned HP last year I contacted a tech support number that went to Hong Kong? LOL! Me oh my!
