  1. Windows 10 freezing on wakeup

So, I've had my Windows 10 desktop for a few years, but ever since I replaced almost every part in it a year ago, I've been having continual problems popping up. Recently, upon doing a repair install for my computer, almost all of the problems I was having at the time were fixed. However, over the past week it's been freezing consistently upon waking up from sleeping. Doesn't matter if the sleep timer goes off after a period of inactivity or if I press 'sleep' from the start menu, every single time it wakes up, the computer completely freezes maybe 10 seconds later. The only way I have of fixing it is to do a hard restart, which has the tendency to screw up my Logitech mouse & keyboard settings, as well as a few other applications' settings. The computer runs perfectly fine after it's been restarted, but even when I try restarting it from the login menu as SOON as the computer's woken up, it freezes during the process until I manually turn the computer off & back on with the power button.

I have had this issue in the past, at random, where the computer will freeze and I have to hard restart it, but it's never happened to me on such a consistent basis. In the past, it's a problem I've run into maybe once or twice a month, rather than every time I let it go to sleep. How can I fix this? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, and I can post my specs if need be.

    :)

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

Password on wakeup Windows 10 latest version

Since you mentioned that this issue only occurs with one of your PC's, we'd like to know which build and version of Windows 10 you have. To check it, click
    Start, type About your
    PC
    , then press Enter.

In the meantime, we suggest another way on how to disable it. To do so, kindly follow these steps:

    • Click Start, type Control Panel, then Press
      Enter.
    • Click Hardware and Sound.
    • Under Hardware and Sound, click
      Power Options.
    • On the left pane, click Require a password on wakeup.
    • Under Password protection on
      wakeup, select Don't require
      a
      password, then click Save Changes.

Get back to us with the result.
