hal.dll+35f1f bsod error in Windows 10

    OT- hal.dll+35f1f bsod

    Hello,

There was a bsod just now, which is the first time I've experienced it - and should I be worrying about it?

This is what I got from BlueScreenView:

    071816-24656-01.dmp

    18/7/2016 8:23:23 PM

    0x00000124

    00000000`00000000

    ffffe000`2db12028

    00000000`b2000000

    00000000`00100402

    hal.dll

    hal.dll+35f1f

    x64

    ntoskrnl.exe+142940

    C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\071816-24656-01.dmp

    What caused this? Thanks!

  3. BSOD w/ a WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR after building a new PC with the hard-drive from my old PC.

The error code is 0x00000124 and it appears to be caused by hal.dll(+3267f) and ntoskrnl.exe(+226800).

Here's a google drive link to the minidump file: 112317-27734-01.dmp

    Anyone think they could help?

Stop code 0x124 WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR mostly refers to Hardware related failure,
WHEA stands for Windows Hardware Error Architecture.
Since it’s probably Hardware but it is not specified which hardware it is, its hard to know which one is failing.
I'm saying probably because 0x124 can also be caused by BIOS problems or Overclocking. But lets assume it's a hardware problem for now.

    Code: 0: kd> !sysinfo cpuspeed CPUID: "Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3820 CPU @ 3.60GHz" MaxSpeed: 3600 CurrentSpeed: 3602 0: kd> !errrec ffffe000dd913028 =============================================================================== Common Platform Error Record @ ffffe000dd913028 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Record Id : 01d1a7fc00c3c259 Severity : Fatal (1) Length : 864 Creator : Microsoft Notify Type : Machine Check Exception Timestamp : 5/9/2016 14:30:54 (UTC) Flags : 0x00000000 =============================================================================== Section 0 : Processor Generic ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Descriptor @ ffffe000dd9130a8 Section @ ffffe000dd913180 Offset : 344 Length : 192 Flags : 0x00000001 Primary Severity : Fatal Proc.     So are you 100% sure that there is no OC running?

If no OC is running i would start testing each important part of the computer, one by one.

    CPU Stress Test
    MemTest86+ RAM Diagnostic
    Hard Drive Diagnostics
    GPU Stress Test

I don't know how to post those tutorials here, but in the following topic, you can find them:

Troubleshooting a counterfeit installation is useless as it is not known what has been modified to your system.
A counterfeit installation contains heavily modified code which causes the system to behave in unexpected ways.
For this reason, analyzing counterfeit systems is unreliable and most analysts won't try it.
I recommend to install a genuine copy of Windows.
If, after you have installed a genuine copy of Windows, you still get BSOD's we'll be happy to assist you.
