Windows 10: Windows 10 from error 0xc0000098 to Error 0x0000012a

So I was asked to help my partner's father with their computer and I really want to solve the issue and gain some points with the in laws.


They recently purchased a new pc, with windows 10 coming with the machine, already installed and without a disk. Set up went fine, everything was simple enough. However the next day they got the blue screen error 0xc0000098.


I've recently installed/updated windows 10 on my own pc and resolved error 0xc0000098 with a guide I found online, and everything has gone swimmingly, yet none of the options worked. I went to the last option and reinstalled windows 10 from my external hard drive. However now the pc displays the error: Error 0x0000012a


I am not sure how to resolve the issue, this thread: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...ndows-10/eadab97a-2232-4a92-a919-73d14410816d seems like a possible solution, but I wanted to check if there where other options should that not work and am I running the risk of 0xc0000098 cropping up again?

The the 0xc0000098 error can appear due to a corrupted BCD (Boot Configuration Data) file. This can be due to a change in the hardware. There is also a possibility that Windows files or the hard drive was damaged on some cases. In this case, we suggest to boot
from windows 10 installation disc and kindly follow the steps provided by
Teemo Tang on this

List the EXACT "blah, blah" you mention, here please... for ALL installation cases!

(Sound like a possible "DLL-Hell" issue, but "Windows File Protection" &/or "System File Protection" should have countered for this... no biggie, there's ways around that too!)
