That or the motherboard may not have compatible drivers that Microsoft's update servers tried as a default.

I would rather give them a book and then have them break it down and I enjoy that you both have jumped in on this. I have been down for my back causing me the past couple of days to not get any sleep. I was running on over 60 hours with no sleep by the time that I went to bed this morning, when my body finally crashed and told the back pain that it was not winning.

    Realtek LAN driver.

If your motherboard does not support Windows 10, then why does Gigabyte have Windows 10 Drivers on their website for your motherboard?

I have the older version P5B apparently windows 10 and my motherboard don't mesh I have constant problems from day one with it and thank you for your help. I have had nothing but issues with windows 10 from the start and never an issue with windows 7 so that's why I am going back. Also for those who are interested Google windows 10 and why is given away for free it will open your eyes. For those that are happy with it I don't fault you but I for one won't use it anymore.

The link has nothing to do with what OS you use. Yes just like some computers and motherboard swere not compatible with Windows 8 & 10. If your motherboard had been manufactured around XP and then discontinued, that would mean that it would never support anything above Windows 7. You can get a new and better Motherboard to replace the one that you have. It will last you for quite a while.

As for drives, do not know what you are asking about that for having to do with the Network Adapter. Just go to Gigabyte's website, put in the model number or serial number and you will get the correct page for your motherboard. You then just need to place those drivers on a USB key to use if Windows 7 does not download and install.

That motherboard is capable of running Windows 10. You just need to click on the "Show me all". You are best to run the x64 version of Windows, since you can use up to 32GB and it shows that motherboard is capable of using 2nd Generation i7 CPU's.

I saw that also. I am thinking that when they installed Windows 10, they most likely started deleting items and tried installing the wrong drivers instead of letting 10 install them as it would have.

Why are you linking to the Gigabyte motherboard then? What is the exact model number of the ASUS P5B series Motherboard? There is no such thing as an older version, it is by model and it should still have drivers on ASUS website that should be compatible. Even if you got it back in 2006, it should still have drivers available that Windows 10 will install.

I have three Intel Core 2 Duo machines in my Basement in storage that will run Windows 10. A HP, Lenovo and Dell. Different Motherboards, but Windows 10 had no issues installing the correct drivers.

Download Speccy from Piriform's website and paste the output from it on a post in this thread.
