Windows 10 gives the wrong time but is set to the correct time zone

    Hello,

Yesterday I installed Windows 10 Professional on my Acer Aspire V5-573G laptop. I installed the English (US) version even though I live in the Netherlands. When I corrected the time I have set it to the correct timezone (see screenshot) but it has the wrong time connected to it. As seen on the screenshot the time displayed is 21:49 even though when I took it, it was actually 13:49. Off course I could manually change the time, but I was wondering if maybe this is part of some bigger problem and if there is a better way to fix it. Hope someone can help me *Smile!

  4. Windows 10 gives the wrong time but is set to the correct time zone

I was going to ask if the time zone was set incorrectly, but that wouldn't explain the discrepancy for minutes.

Hello evdg86, and welcome to Ten Forums. *Smile

I'm not sure why it did that, but let's see if manually setting the time to the correct time, syncing the time using the tutorial below, and setting the time back to automatic may sort it for you.

  10. Your initial time server polling interval is set to sync time every 7 days. Sometimes there is a drift in this time from several minutes to hours in that 7 day period then everything is reset to correct time and the drift process starts again. I run a polling interval at every 15minutes and use the time-b.nist.gov time server as my reference time source. This setting nets zero time drift on my pc. There are many more time servers sources than that including something from your own country i would imagine.

Setting up and authoritative time service, is valid for windows 10.

I suggest using this NTP server over the default ones Windows provides, in addition to lopedoggie's suggestion:
    Code: pool.ntp.org[/quote]
