Windows 10: Windows 10 Going Into Sleep Mode Randomly

Hello!



I am using a HP Envy 15 TouchScreen Notebook (SKU: F5G56AV), Core i7-4700MQ CPU, Win 10 Home 10.0.17134, NVIDIA GeForce 840M Video Card.


I starting in the past two weeks (approximately), I have been having the notebook randomly go into sleep mode, even when using the notebook actively, which is a serious problem when working and using Citrix which requires a constant network connection. It seems to happen several times in one day and then not for a few days, but it seems to keep returning.


I have run the Power Troubleshooter and it found nothing to fix and have the power settings set so that the notebook never automatically goes into sleep mode. I have not tried booting into clean mode as yet, but was hoping to find a solution to this using another method. I do have Windows set to automatically install updates, however I have reviewed my update history and do not see a clear link to an update being installed that might have caused the problem to start.


I have seen quite a few other users having similar issues over time and so I was hoping someone might have found a solution. Otherwise, the notebook seems to be working properly, so my feeling is that this is a software/OS issue. Suggestions? Thanks in advance for the help.

PC going into sleep mode randomly even if in use

I downloaded and installed the display driver with no luck. It's still going into sleep mode randomly.

Any other suggestion I can try? Thanks

 

WINDOWS 10 going to sleep randomly

I too have been this problem with my PC randomly going into sleep mode. It appears to only happen when the machine is "idle." For example, if I'm reading an article and not actively interfacing with the PC, it goes to sleep for no reason. I have all power
management options set to "never."

This behavior started after the latest Windows update. I ran the report you suggested but I do not see an option for attaching it to this message. I tried to upload it as an image, but an .html file could not be selected.

This is very aggravating.

Windows 10 PC will not go into sleep mode

My new Windows 10 pc set to go into sleep mode after 2 hours and it doesn't happen - I can put into sleep mode manually but often it comes out of sleep by itself. I have tried all of the suggestions and have had no luck.
