Windows 10: Windows 10 guess the RTM release date - $1000 prize

I'll guess August 4th and will donate the winnings to the retirement fund.

Could we have some clarification of exactly what needs to happen on that date, are we looking at an available for download date, date of the announcement of release, announced date of release or what?

RTM = Release To Manufacturers This is known as the 'Gold' build. GA or General Availability is when it hits the shelves... 10.10.15?

 

The RTM is a very clear date which will be set by Microsoft. On that day the final version of Windows 10 will be released so that the computer manufacturers can officially pre-install it on computers they will sell.

There will be no confusion about the date. Just for a reminder, here's the official dates of Windows 8 as told by Wikipedia:

Had this been about Windows 8, the winner would have been the member who guessed August 1, 2012.

I Know that I cannot participate, so dont count me in.

I just want to tell you my opinion, which is about August release, in order to meet the demand of purchases, before the schools open. Remember, windows 8 released at the same time.

 

As I am only the clerk here keeping the records, I had to check this with the owner of the Ten Forums. Although the rules will say it clearly that to get the price you need a PayPal account, this time you got in due the fact that you so clearly state that you want the price money in case you win to go to the charity.
