Windows 10: Windows 10 Home edition 64 bit Photo app causing system freeze

So windows app called photos(app for viewing jpg jpeg png) pre installed on windows is causing crash to my system.

Every time i leave my laptop on but not using it every 10 minutes it freezes and i need to Hard Reset my laptop.


I got that conclusion by leaving my laptop on with task manager on to see what porcesses are using my system.

Apperently photo app after every 10 minutes launches and uses 100 cpu and 100 disk.

My question is why is photo app using 100 cpu and 100 disk every time i leave my laptop for 10 minutes

I fixed that problem by using windows power shell to delete pre-installed app.

Cpu:Intel pentium N4200 2.4 Ghz

Gpu:Intel HD graphics 505

Ram:8 gb

Operating system:Windows 10 home edition (sub version 17134)

HDD: 1 Tb

Windows 10 Photos App crashing when in the edit menu


​Hello everyone!
Just recently (within the week) my Photos Application has started crashing



This happens most often when I'm in the editing menu

Sometimes it crashes on startup - Sometimes when I enter the Editing Menu - Sometimes when I attempt to edit

Things I've attempted to do to fix

• Uninstall and reinstall the app
• Contact Microsoft Support (cringe)
• sfc /scannow
• Restore Libraries to default
• Created another local account
• Clear the app cache
• Check disk health (extremely healthy)
• Add a Microsoft Account / Connect a Microsoft account
• Put photos in a different folder / drive
• The system Troubleshooter.

NOTHING HAS WORKED

Possible Causes .

• My photos are located on another disk G) - I have an SSD (128GB) for boot - A 1TB regular drive for Programs and another 1 TB drive for documents/photos/etc.

I've followed every guide possible and still nothing has worked. I need some serious help *Mad
So strange how it just started happening, Please help, any suggestions are appreciated as this is a major headache for me!

 

Performance - 32 Bit Vs 64 Bit

Greetings:

• I am running Windows 10 / 32 bit
• My computer is a 64 bit CPU with 5Gb Memory
• I use mostly MS Office Applications and a bit of photo and video editing.

Question:

1) Will my system operate much faster if I upgrade to Windows 10 / 64 Bit?

I can upgrade at no cost since I have the Original CD of Windows 7 /64

2) Would yo do it if you were in my place?

GPU-Z update loop (Windows 10 64-bit)

I don't have better steps - this is all, I have nothing to add.

Maybe it is worth noting issue was on Windows 10 Enterprise, build 14393.187, so maybe you should test on the same.
My other PCs have a different Windows 10 version - Pro, latest Insider Preview build from last week, and there is no such issue on those.
All are 64-bit edition of Windows 10.

This issue is not new. I have had same 1-2 years ago too, with older GPU-Z versions.

EDIT: And yes, I have Windows 10 UAC enabled and set to defaults. If you are using your Windows PCs with UAC off, you likely cannot reproduce this issue. *Smile
