  1. Windows 10 Home Edition Reset Questions

I am cleaning up my computer to start fresh and yes I have backed up my files to an external drive. I already did a full reset of Windows 10 on my SSD and erased both my SSD and two internal hard drives using Windows's Reset erase feature before reloading Windows. After reloading Windows, I formatted my two internal hard drives to the specifications recommended by Microsoft. One internal hard drive is for music storage and the other hard drive is for games. At the time of this writing both of the internal hard drives are empty but I will reload my music collection and games after I am done with the installation and personalization of Windows 10. I have currently halted my reinstallation process because I am considering resetting Windows 10 again because I am not satisfied with some of the customizations that I made to the operating system. My questions are as followed:

    1. If I do either a full reset or quick reset of Windows 10 to only the SSD where the operating system is located and not my two internal hard drives, will I need to format the internal hard drives again after the Windows Reset process despite having formatted them previously or can I leave them alone and use them after the reset process? Currently the internal hard drives are empty, but if I need to do a reset in the future and only have Windows Reset the SSD, would my files on those hard drives be impacted by the reset process or would they be safe?

    2. If I do either a full reset or quick reset of Windows 10, I want Windows to reload with all of its settings set to default as if it were brand new. Will Windows 10 reload with all of its default settings when I enter my existing Microsoft account or would I need to create a new Microsoft account?

    Thanks.

    :)

There's no need to reset the laptop. Simply create a new user account for you, change its account type to administrator (all new accounts after the first initial one are standard accounts when created), sign out from the original account, sign in to your new account and finally remove the original account. Takes a few minutes, much faster than a full reset.

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
