Windows 10: Windows 10 Home - Stop WIndows Update Attempting to Update NON MS packages

WIndows 10 Update has after some early days worked ok. BUT recently it has started listing NON MS package updates for example the following 3 packages.;HP Inc. - System - 1.66.3710.0HP Inc. - SoftwareComponent - 1.69.3844.0HP Inc. - Extension - 1.66.3710.0There is no indication of what these updates are and one such HP update did attempt to install and looked like it was flashing the bios, that package failed and thankfully the HP loader then seemed to restore the previous bios. The whole experience was horrifying as it could in other circumstances have totalled the HP PC it was doing this

Well just noticed a pretty large one pop up coming in at 914MB, seems it makes some pretty serous updates.

srlsly? Looks like MS nerfed it then. Hope you get it sorted.

I have to confess that I've not paid much attention to it and didn't bother updating it, although I probably should have.

 

Windows update again with Get Windows 10 app

Well there are a lot of computers where Get Windows 10 doesn't work. Maybe the update was attempting to fix those problems.
