  1. Windows 10 Home will not update

I have had this issue for months with no solution. I am not a computer expert at all and this is pretty annoying! My laptop says I am not connected to the internet when in fact I am. I can go online to anywhere with no issues, In fact I wouldn't be here right now if I did have internet filling this out.

Therefore when I try to update windows, which has not occurred since June 27, 2020, according to my update history, I am unable to download the update and this error message occurs.

"We couldn't check for updates, because you aren't connected to the Internet. Make sure you have a cellular data or Wi-Fi connection and try again."

    The last updates were a

Windows defender antivirus antimalware update KB4052623

    Windows 10 for X64 based system KB4056254

    2019-02 Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64 based system KB4346085

    2019-08 Update for Windows 10 version 1709 for x64 based system KB4023057

I have tried everything I can find online and apparently this is a known issue. So currently, my laptop will not be able to download any updates. What is the fix. I have read a lot about the "Windows 10 No Internet Connection Bug."

I have version Windows 10 Home Version 1709, OS Build 16299.1087.

    :)

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
