  1. Windows 10 IE saving pdf files as aspx.

    Hi,

My work computer is Windows 10 and we can ONLY use Internet Explorer. We receive pdf files via email that I need to save to my computer. However, when I save them, they don't save as pdf. They save as aspx. I have to go in and re-save each file as a pdf. How can I make my computer save these files as pdf? Thank you.

  2. microsoft print to pdf files will not open after saving

We suggest that you save the PDF files on your device and check if the issue persists. You may also want to associate the PDF files to Microsoft Edge as the default program to make sure that you have a default application that will open all of your PDF files.
    Here are the steps:

    • Search for Default Programs.
    • Go to Associate a file type or protocol with a program.
    • Select the .pdf file type and then click the Change program button on the upper right of the
      Set Associations window.
    • Choose Microsoft Edge and then click OK.
Let us know how it goes.

  3. Unable to open .ASPX File.

    Hi Cassie,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

If you want to see the underlying script commands, then you can
Right-Click on the ASPX file and select Edit. The file should open in
Notepad and you should be able to read the code.

If you want to convert that ASPX file to PDF file to just view the content of the file, then you can simply rename the ASPX file to whatever you expect it to be. For example, if you expected a PDF version and instead got an ASPX file, just rename the
file as ‘filename.pdf’ and then open the file.

Note: In order to rename the file, your computer has to be set up to show you the file extension and to do this, press the ‘Windows’ key and the ‘R’ key from your keyboard and type ‘Control
    folders
’ without quotes and hit ‘Enter’. Then, go to View tab and scroll down the option ‘Hide extensions for known file types’ and
uncheck that option. Then, click on Apply and
    OK
    .

Follow the below steps to rename the ASPX file to PDF.

Step 1: Right-Click on the ASPX file and click on
    Properties.

Step 2: Then, you will see the name of the ASPX file with the extension .ASPX, so you can delete that .ASPX and change it to .PDF.

Step 3: If prompted, ‘If you change a file name extension, the file might become unusable’, click on ‘Yes’.

Step 4: Then, click on Apply and
    OK.

Now, once you double click on that file, which you changed the extension, then that file will be opened in PDF format.

In the same way, if you want that file to be opened with Word application, then you can rename .ASPX to .DOCX.

    Hope it helps.

Let us know if you got the help you needed by clicking Yes or No.

Windows 10 IE saving pdf files as aspx.

    PDF

    Hello,

Regarding your PDF documents, the location will be based on where you saved the files. For your second inquiry, your documents can be converted to a PDF. If the original file is from Office Word, we suggest that you follow the steps below:

    • In Word, select File > Save As.

    • Select where you want to save the file.

    • Type a new File name if you want.

    • For Save as type, select PDF.

    • For Optimize for, select an option: Standard or
      Minimum Size.

    • Select Open File After Publishing, if you want to open the file after you save it as a PDF. This is selected by default.

    • Select Save.
If the steps provided is not working, please get back to us with the exact version of your Office Word.

Let us know the result of the suggested steps.

    Thank you.
