    Windows 10 Insider Program Survey

It was supposed to be two different statements. One about the Insider and one about the company.

Redstone keeps getting pushed back, because of all of the problems they keep having with 10.

Also not everyone in the Insider program are reporting problems. Some are in it, just to get the new build early, thinking that it will fix something, that it will not.

Microsoft is no longer competing with Apple at this point, because Apple has slowed down on anything new, until next quarter. If anything Apple does, it will be hopefully fixing the Bluetooth and battery drain issues with iOS 9.

Both companies have hit the brick wall with consumers. It is now mainly Enterprise that Microsoft especially is trying to keep. Linux is killing them in the Server and AD areas, since the company's that deal with AD for Redhat and Suse, have stepped up their A game.

  2. What is your source for this "Redstone keeps getting pushed back"?

People are perfectly free to join the insider program for their own purposes, whatever they are. The telemetry is what Microsoft uses, not their motives.

The date has not really come out yet. At this point MS has said that it might come out in the June/July time frame.

Microsoft has said July. That fits with the end of the free upgrade offer at the end of that month. It will be incentive for those not yet adopting to quickly do so. The publicity around the Redstone launch should provide encouragement to adopt before the offer expires.

I would not bet on it at this time. They obviously do not want another disaster like what happened when Sales wanted 10 pushed out to everyone, before school started.

On the 13th of October the release was supposed to be at the end. Then they pushed it to November. Now they are stating July next year, which goes along with the release of Server 2016, which right now is being slated for a possible release 3rd Qtr 2016.

The direction that Microsoft is going right now, is alienating those of us who have always been loyal users, making us start jumping off of the boat and use Linux instead.

If the schedule had stayed as it was supposed to. Office, Windows and Server, were all supposed to go out at the same time. Instead, Sales & Marketing wanted Windows and Office out into the market way too early.

A lot of the changes for Redstone are already being tested in the Insider builds. The issue is that they keep breaking stuff, everytime they fiddle with something.

If Microsoft would get away from the Hybrid NY Kernel, things could move faster and not move backwards.

I am seeing on the Microsoft Facebook page, more wanting to stick with 7 & 8.1, then move up to 10. Also seeing higher numbers then usual, for those who are just tossing out Windows all together and going straight to Linux or getting a MacBook and using Mac OS.

Keep in mind what some of this stuff I have posted, is from what I am seeing from Social media on Microsoft's FB page, the articles I have come across and the situations I am running into with 10. I will never touch Office 2016 with a 10' pole. Server they need to go to a straight BSD based Kernel and system, so that they can stay competitive with the Linux and BSD server markets.

Goodness me, you do seem to have your own agenda.
Insiders should expect to have problems, after all what would be the point otherwise.
How can M$ possibly give an accurate time schedule whilst in development?
As for opinions posted by pointy heads on facebook....no comment, rather sad the necessity to quote from such a site.
Do not include me in your "us" wishing to jump ship to Linux.

  7. What disaster? I hope you aren't relating what shows up in the forums to the big picture. People go to the forums for help so we see mostly issues in their postings. Compare the few thousands of those needing help to more than a hundred million who don't. I don't see any disaster. I do see your assumptions and speculations. One assumption you shouldn't make is that everybody else agrees with you. I sure don't. I am happy with Windows 10 and look forward to sharing in its evolution.

I totally agree. Even with all of the issues that get resolved here it's a fraction of the total upgrades that have taken place and the percent that had no issues.

Us?? Speak for yourself.. I've tried various distributions and I would never use Linux as a primary OS.

  11. Read the top row of boxes. "None-I don't use this social network."

I don't know if you can do a multiple choice or not on that question. I tried it on a previous question and it wouldn't except it. I just wrote none in the box so I could finish the survey.

  15. If you didn't know did you at least try it? Not that I want more people finishing the survey. After all there is a $2000 prize involved.
