    Windows 10 Install Taking Forever


    Hello, I have a question regarding Windows 10 Installation & Upgrade.

    I am trying to install Windows 10 1809 32-bit on my Virtual Box but the installer is stuck in "Getting files ready for installation". The percentage of completion is increasing by 15-30 minute intervals. I am saving the VM file to a usb because my hard drive doesn't have enough room, and I am using an older version of windows so I can install under 32gb. Why is it "Getting ready files for installation" so slow? Could it be because I am storing the VM file on an external USB? Or because I am running the VM on another persistent linux usb?


    Update: Where can I possible find an old Windows 10 1809 disk? Or any version of windows 10 that installs within 20-25GB?

    I just got this error code while installing 1809:

    Ruh roh. I'd plug the HDD into another computer, retrieve the data, install windows 7, then force windows 10 upgrade. The power loss during the upgrade most likely ruined the upgrade process.

    could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx
