Windows 10: Windows 10 installation "stuck"

Recently my laptop, ASUS FX505DY Ryzen 5 3550H:8GB RAM has been quite slow and not performing as it should. This is not the first time my laptop has acted up, where in these cases, I simply reboot or run SFC or DISM and solves the issue. However, considering my laptop specifications, Windows still runs slowly often, and sometimes crashes all together. Therefore I decided to reset Windows, given that I have no pressing need to use it during lockdown and with exams cancelled.


First, I used the refresh tool from the Microsoft site but this failed and Windows reverted to the pre refresh state.

Second I find a cumulative update was pending install so I allowed this to run. Then I tried the fresh start option in Windows Security.


Sometime during all this the device also ran startup repair. Then it repaired disk issues.


The fresh start process is still running after 4hrs despite saying it would take 20 mins. It, for the past hour, has been stuck on the following:

Installing Windows, 88%

Don't turn off your PC.


Note that my PC was? running Windows 10, 1909.

I created installation media recently, which seems to be for 2004 version.


Please advise me on what to do now.

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

Installing Windows 10 on New PC?

I'm going to be building a new PC on Christmas and want to install Windows 10 on it. I have Windows 10 on my current PC, which I installed upgrading from 8.1 with the files on a USB. How do I go about installing a clean copy of Windows 10 on this new PC? I think I recall something about installing it once makes Microsoft recognize your hardware, but since this will be a PC I'm not sure what steps I need to take. Do I need to go 8.1 -> 10 or is there a method of going directly to 10?
