    Windows 10 installing on SSD

How do I successfully install Windows 10 on an SSD? I currently have Windows 7 however, I have purchased my own copy of Windows 10 to install. What is the correct installation method for an SSD.

    :)

  2. Installing Win 10 on SSD

I had a beta build that would not update. I also had my Win7 on a HDD, where 10 was on my SSD.

To install the final [garbage, not ready for release] ver of Win10, I had to wipe the SSD, install Win7, then upgrade to Win10.

  3. Installing Win 10 on SSD

i currently have win 7 installed on my hard drive with all my programs running from same drive. I'd like to install win 10 to a SSD, do I need to move all my old programs and files to new SSD? or can I leave everything where it is?

Make sure AHCI is on in your BIOS, and boot to install media, let Windows take care of the rest. And I mean let Window, there are absolutely no "tweaks" necessary.

    There's a minor subtlety.

When booting from the install medium, you may be presented with two choices: regular boot, and UEFI. (It's for the same disk, but for different installation modes.)

If you want to set up a UEFI system, boot from that option. (That's the one I've used on my UEFI-capable motherboards.)
