Windows 10: Windows 10 is once again getting KB4023057 to improve update experience

Windows 10 KB4023057 which was released back in September is now rolling out again. It looks like Microsoft has modified the package of this update and the software maker is rolling out the update to some devices once again.

It’s important to note that the purpose of KB4023057 is to improve the reliability of Windows Update Service components in Windows 10. According to the support document, the update would show up on Windows 10 April 2018 Update (version 1803), version 1709, version 1703, version 1607, version 1511 and version 1507.

As it happened in past, Windows 10 KB4023057 won’t show up on all devices and it’s aimed at some systems running any of the Windows 10 version released so far.

“This update is also offered directly to Windows Update Client for some devices that have not installed the most recent updates,” Microsoft explains. It means you cannot manually force this update from Microsoft Update Catalog.

It could be possible that the update has been released again in order to improve the upgrade experience before delivery the Windows 10 October 2018 Update.

“This update includes files and resources that address issues that affect the update processes in Windows 10 that may prevent important Windows updates from being installed. These improvements help make sure that updates are installed seamlessly on your device, and they help improve the reliability and security of devices that are running Windows 10,” Microsoft explains.

Installing this update may also repair the corrupted components in Windows 10 that might have delayed the other updates on the users device.

Kb4023057

This update seems unusual in that it has only been seen in a few select regions. It is not listed in the Windows 10 update history, but there is a KB article for it in all languages...

• The key information there seems to be "Only certain builds of Windows 10 version 1507 and Windows 10 version 1511 require this update".

 

KB4023057 installed as program


I also have Windows 10 1709 : KB4023057 listed in programs and windows update is also trying to install it and failing at 71%
whatever I do !

So I have it already and it's still trying to install it and failing....

Anyone know a sensible course of action to remedy the situation ?

[It is installed twice in programs the second listing is called Windows setup remediations KB4023057]

 

Update KB4023057 issue


Hello,
Got a notice that update KB4023057 waiting to be installed. Looked into installed updates list, it is listed as succesfully installed on 6 July 2018. Tried first to uninstall this update before installing the "waiting" update, it is not listed in the uninstall list. Tried to uninstall it via cmd prompt as admin, got answer it is not installed on my computer.
Made a search in microsoft updates catalog, "We did not find any results for "kb4023057"" was the answer.
Now I am asking you what to do, install or not, and what else can I do.
Answers will be appreciated.
