  1. Windows 10 is trying to run a .dll file at startup and always asks how I want to run it

I am aware than a user or the system are both not supposed to be able to run .dll files and that they are used only directly by other apps. Knowing that, just makes me more confused as to why would the system even try to run a .dll file. I took a peek in the task scheduler and found nothing that could be causing this but I would be more than happy to look again if anyone can help with that. Thanks to everyone in advance.P.S.: To provide some extra information, I do not recall installing or uninstalling anything driver/app before this started occuring.

    :)

Error missing .dll files when trying to run Smite

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

In understand that you get error with .dll files missing when you try to run Smite on your computer.

The error message that you are getting are related to DirectX. DirectX 12 and 11.3 are included with Windows 10. I would suggest you to try updating DirectX from the installer

    DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer
    and see if that helps.

You may also want to update the Display drivers and see if that helps. To update the Display Drivers, refer the steps mentioned below:

    1. Press Windows Logo key + X, and select
      Device Manager.
    2. Expand Display adapters.
    3. Right click on the display driver and select
      Update Driver
      .

    Article for reference:
    Update drivers in Windows 10

One more method I would suggest you is to check for any DirectX installation file included with the game. You may want to install the version of DirectX provided along with the game and see if that helps.

Let us know how it goes.

Error: missing msvcp110.dll and msvcr110.dll with message: not designed to run on Windows or are corrupted on Windows 10 while playing Smite game

    Hi Estelito,

    Thank you for responding.

Try the below troubleshooting steps and check if it helps.

Method 1: Unregister and re-register the msvcp110.dll and then check if you come across the issue.

    Step 1: Steps to un-register
    msvcp110.dll

    • Press Windows + R from the keyboard to open
      Run
      command.
    • Type regsvr32 /u msvcp110.dll
    • Click on OK.
    • Close the Run command window

    Step 2:
    Steps to re-register msvcp110.dll

    • Press Windows + R from the keyboard to open
      Run
      command.
    • Type regsvr32 /i msvcp110.dll
    • Click on OK.
    • Close the Run command window and check if the issue persists.

Method 2: Check if you have not deleted the msvcp110.dll file by mistake on your device.

Check for the file in Recycle bin. If found restore back.

Method 3: I suggest you to run the Microsoft Safety Scanner
    and check.

    Microsoft Safety Scanner

Also, when you perform Microsoft Safety Scanner from the link provided, data or files which are infected by malware might be beyond cleaning and have to be deleted entirely to maintain the integrity of your system, which means there might be a potential
    for data loss.

Hope it helps. Get back to us with an updated status of this issue for further assistance.
