Windows 10: Windows 10 is very very very dangerous

Discus and support Windows 10 is very very very dangerous in Windows 10 Support to solve the problem; Your restore disk would not read system images or system restore points? But that is why I use Macrium Reflect and the rescue media it creates.... Discussion in 'Windows 10 Support' started by dennisl, Aug 10, 2015.

The rollback feature does not always work.

Create a image backup to an external USB hard drive using software like Macrium Reflect Free. If you don't have an external hard drive, get one. A 1TB runs around $50 to $60 and is well worth the investment.

No problem kidda I sorted it now it works, I don't need to use 3rd party apps to create my backups, create system image is one of the good things Microchit actually got right.

I had no problem rolling back and it was done in less than a half hour. I did all things mentioned as I am pretty good with computers but nothing really worked. I had a cloned hdd as I always do but it rolled back fine. Working like did before. Yes, this has also been a problem with past windows of this driver which is exactly why they should have had it completely focused and fixed. There is nothing worse than a driver to stop or blue screen you. So many people have had to literally format and install again. I feel really sorry for those who only have one computer and it goes down on the upgrade. They have to take their computer someplace and spend more than they would if they purchased the software many times.

Hard drives are cheap today and I have one computer with Win 7 Ultimate and the other with Win 7 Professional. They have worked flawlessly and I have cloned many times without glitch. All you hear about is Win 10 freebie. Well, I liked the interface a lot but this kind of stuff really hurts all people. Also, in a few weeks to months improvement and more criticisms will come out hurting and helping.

  6. Upgraded to 10 using using ISO.
    Black screen with cursor. *Sad
Restarted--- Black screen with cursor. *Sad

    Had factory recovery disks. *Smile

Used them. Recovered to 8 oem.
    Downloaded Macrium {my paid version-V6--Server edition}.
Used my system image on a usb to restore directly to 8.1 Pro.

"3rd party" programs can save you a lot of trouble.

Forgot to mention I use Paragon Professional 14 Drive Copy and it is just great. I literally wanted the roll back to see if it worked ok. I mean people need to know you only have a 1 month option on that. I usually only trust my own completely cloned backups and will certainly probably restore with my backup clone. The migrate option is wonderful for any system. I mean on a small hdd you can backup the windows partition in a matter of 15 minutes and restore it quickly. Good Luck to all those who are enjoying their Windows 10 Upgrades.

That's just...ummm....ironic. Making backups because you don't trust the Operating System not to crash and make your computer unusable, but trusting that same operating system to make valid backups and be able to restore them using the same Operating System resources. Just a head scratcher to me, especially when the 3rd party software is free.

Realtek has been around a long time. Downloaded the latest from Microsoft, not realtek, although it was a Realtek driver. Everybody's computer is different with different conflicting drivers and programs. It is Microsoft and others who owe it to check these things even from 3rd party resources. After all they have tremendous diagnostic capability and money and resources we do not have. Can you fix everything in the latest last 10 years or more automobiles. No way, go pay the $300 for the lousy diagnostic because that is the only way you can do it anymore. Billions of bytes in your computer, it is MS responsibility to do better job of incompatibility problems. By the way when researched this it was a common, very common problem for quite a few years and still is. So, somebody is not addressing this issue.

Like I said I have tested Windows image restore and back up pretty much extensively and it works very well, now given that I wouldn't touch Windows Disk Management, each to their own. On another note I used MiniTool Partition Wizard to migrate my test 10 to my SSD.
    Also I don't see this
Can you tell me where I made this statment.

Bazz seems to be out of the loop. I have used Windows Restore for years and it always works very well. I have had crap and a virus attacks before despite my anti-virus software and set back system restore for a day or two and it always works extremely well. That being said beside those factors I run malware bytes and other programs. I wanted to just test the validity of rolling back on Windows 10 to verify it worked and it worked well. I may want to install again when they get more kinks out after millions install it.

When I restore I use one of my clone hdd that is basically windows install with very little programs and it is very clean. This is one of those guys that likes to argue. There is nothing wrong with my computer or programs on it. Never had this particular problem for years or anything like it. Have had all forms of Windows Operating Systems and never a problem. Without a doubt this is a problem with the Windows 10 upgrade. At least on mine and other systems. I use less than 80 Gigs on my entire system, Windows and other programs. Forums don't need people like Bazz as he hurts the forums more than helps. A problem is not always a person's computer, usually is software related, and not that often hardware related. I am not a computer specialist buy I am a retired engineer so I think I know more than Bazz on this subject. Signing out for good. Happy Windows 10 to everyone.
