Windows 10: Windows 10 KB4508451 update

I updated to KB4508451 on Aug 09 and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. The next day I tried to use the search box to find a program and got an empty box with some characters trying to display in a single pixel tall line at the top of this box. Nothing else would display or react to my inputs. Start menu search (via Start10 worked normally). I did not think to try with Windows 10 menu.


Uninstalling the update returned the search box function to normal.


Am I the only one with this problem?

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Well just noticed a pretty large one pop up coming in at 914MB, seems it makes some pretty serous updates.
