  1. Windows 10 Keeps freezing.

    Hi there,

So I recently installed Cyberpunk 2077 on my laptop running Windows 10. The game was very buggy and my system kept crashing and rebooting. At times I would have to wait for the laptop battery to fully drain before powering it on again.

This inevitably lead to my system profile to become corrupt and Windows would log me into a temporary profile. I tried to fix this by removing a backup profile registry key which did not work. So I decided to enable Windows administrator account through the command prompt. Eventually I disabled the administrator account while logged onto it thinking I would be able to log into my original profile. I then couldn't sign into Windows at all. So I loaded registry edit from the boot command line and changed some values which at least allowed me to access the hard drive.

I decided to back up my user profile folder to an external hard drive and wipe Windows entirely with a fresh install but without choosing to re-download Windows. Unfortunately the clean install still persists with system freezing and I am running out of options to fix Windows from freezing/crashing. There is no blue screen of death but I am worried there might be a hardware problem. Scf scannow and Windows memory diagnostic return with no problems found.

How can I stop the freezing?

    :)

    Windows keeps freezing up

    Hi Brian,

If your computer is freezing, it could due to the operating system being outdated, or that some applications in your system is causing it to freeze, etc. For us to isolate the issue about Windows 10 freezing, kindly respond to the questions below:

    • When does Windows 10 hangs/freezes? Is it after logging in to Windows? Or is it when you are using an application?
    • Are there any third-party applications installed on your computer?
    • Did you upgrade to Windows 10 from a previous version of Windows? If yes, which version of Windows was previously installed on your computer?

As a first troubleshooting step, we suggest that you check if there are updates that are waiting to be installed on your computer. If there are, kindly install them and restart your computer. After restarting, check if Windows 10 still freezes. Here's how
to check for updates in Windows 10:

    • Press the Windows key + I to open the
      Settings
      app.
    • From Settings, select Update & security >
      Windows Update
, then select Check for updates.

We look forward to an update from you.
