    I had notification from Windows about my activation key not working but I decided I'll ignore it hoping it will just sort it out on it's own. Well it didn't and today I was welcomed with beautiful text on my screen "Activate Windows".


    I bought this pc few years ago and it came preactivated with windows 10. As far as I know this key should not stop working out of nowhere and only think I changed in it is adding another HDD but it was more than a year ago. I tried getting my product key from command line but it says this key didn't work. There is also message in Windows activation tab, I attached it below. I am not part of any organisation and my pc is from Acer.

    Nope, you need to install Windows 10 first and make sure the Windows 7 key is transferred to your Windows account after you've installed Windows 10 (not quite sure how that works). I missed the last step and I could not activate Windows 10 after a re-install... Microsoft seem to have done everything they can to make it a PITA. Also, it's technically too late to do this now anyhow, as the upgrade offer has expired. But KMSPico works quite well...

    As for getting rid of Windows, delete the Windows folder.

    Thanks but I don't want to do any decrypting. I want to download a Win 10 ISO from Microsoft and install it using my Win 8 key. No other steps required. Is that possible?
