Windows 10: Windows 10 keyboard letter keys stop working

Windows Wireless Comfort 5050 Desktop keyboard letters and shift keys stopped working on computer 1. Function keys and calculator key continue to work. Wireless mouse continues to work 100%. Switched out 3 different keyboards, 2 Logitec and one other Microsoft. Logitec uses different USB sensor. All 4 keyboards have same result on computer 1. All 4 keyboards work 100% on different computer 2 with same updated and current operating system, Win 10.


On computer 1, attempted to check software and drivers. Each time i receive update notice, "Windows encountered a problem installing the drivers for your device....Windows cannot start this device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)...If you know manufacturer of your device, you can visit their website and check the support section for drivers."


Reminder it is a Microsoft keyboard and this error first appeared before any keyboard switching.


After several attempts to repair or reinstall driver, restored system to last known working restore point of 11 Oct. (problem began 12 Oct). Have also attempted to repair operating system with original install setup software.


Computer 1 continues to function properly in all other aspects.

Keyboard stopped working under Windows 10


I have an iMac dual booting Mac OSX and Windows 10 under Bootcamp. I have the normal iMac wireless keyboard.


Windows has been running normally for several years since the day I got the computer. Windows 10 has been running normally since the day I was able to automatically download it in August.


Today, my keyboard stopped working under Windows 10. I am writing this from the Mac side. The keyboard works perfectly and the battery power is 100% under Mac OSX.


When I boot to my Windows partition (which is the default) I have to use the keyboard to sign-in under Windows. The keyboard works fine for sign-in! Then, as soon as I get to my desktop, the keyboard stops working entirely. No key produces a letter. The cursor doesn't move. I hear a click in my headset when a key is pressed, but nothing happens.


The mouse works. If I reach the hardware and devices portion of the control panel, as far as I can tell things the keyboard device says it is working properly. I remember a wireless keyboard listed and a bluetooth keyboard and something called an HID device. Windows reports that they are working properly. I managed to open the troubleshooter using the mouse only and it couldn't find a problem.


I have turned the computer off and on several times.


Would someone be so kind as to suggest how I can find and fix the problem.

random keyboard keys stop working?

i went out today and everything was fine, i come home and three random keys stopped working, maybe more i havent noticed yet. the three key on the left side of the keyboard not working, the left shift stopped working, and the enter key stopped working, but the one on the numpad works fine. no one was home to use it, nothing spilled on it, i tried it on another computer and same deal. im gonna go buy a new one tomorrow but it makes me sad cause i loved this keyboard lol, microsoft ergonomic 4000. ill probably buy the same exact one if its in stock tomorrow, this one lasted or 4 years about. im just confused why three random keys spread out stopped working at the same time...seems very weird
