    Windows 10 Keyboard not working.

    Machine : Dell G5 Laptop
Problem : Randomly, Keys do not work.
After watching a video for 5 or 10 minutes, if i press Windows + D, All apps should be minimized and desktop should appear. However this doesn't happen. I need to press multiple times.

After leaving machine unattended for 20 or 30 minutes, Keys "W" and "S" do not work. After pressing them for a dozen times, they start working. not sure why this happens, but it started happening since recent updates.

Browsers are too slow. If i press Ctrl + T (New Tab), there wont be a new tab. i end up pressing keys for half a dozen times and then a new tab opens.

The problem is regular. Once i start using the keyboard, all keys work seamlessly. But if i stop using keyboard for some time and then i start using it, keys do not work.

No matter what i am doing. The moment i press windows key, the start menu doesnt appear. there is a significant delay in showing the start menu. The search doesn't work after some time.

The Machine is slow. All apps do not launch when I double click on them. they just take around 3-4 seconds before launching. The launching process takes another 3-10 sec's depending on application. the OS Lag is the critical issue.

This is one of the powerful machine available in the market, and I use the following settings.
    Hardware

    CPU : Core I7 8750
    Ram : 12 GB
    HDD : Samsung SSD

    Bios and Windows Settings

Hyper Threading : Enabled in Bios.

CPU Temperature : Normal 45- 65 Degrees Celcius. No overheating or other issues.

Power mode: Both. On charger and on battery.

    Windows power mode: Maximum Performance.

GPU: nVidia GTX 1050Ti 4GB (Always used). Earlier I tried with Integrated GPU and was facing these issues. Suspected issue with Intel GPU and changed to use nVidia GPU. Seems like the GPU has nothing to do with this problem.

Removed the OS and did a clean install. Backed up all my data and Formatted SSD and reinstalled OS.
None of the problems are fixed. It appears that, the earlier OS had no issues. The Windows 10 with latest updates is the actual culprit. I had 8 GB Ram. Thought the issue is with RAM and added an additional 4GB. However nothing has changed. All issues persist and are impeding my work.

At this point, i am really worried on how Microsoft future updates are going to screw my machine in unpredictable manner. I often panic when something doesn't work as I have critical data on my machine and
these issues are impacting my work.

Please let me know how this could be fixed.
Or please do let me know, moving to Linux is the best solution available for me.

I have been facing this issue from the past 3/4 weeks. The system was laggy earlier, but all keys used to work. Now, keys started acting weirdly. Ended up taking the machine to a repair shop, however no one found an issue. I hope you understand my situation. Request you to provide a working solution to this issue.

    :)

Windows 10 upgrade problem, no input accepted

I really hate having to come here and ask for help, but I really am stumped. It hurts my geek pride. I have a PC with fairly modern hardware in it. It has a p8p67 pro in it. I have tried upgrading windows 10 on it twice now. Both times I have had the same result.

After windows finishes upgrading it goes to the log in/set up screen. I can't do anything. No keyboard or mouse input is accepted.

I will list some, or hopefully all, of the troubleshooting steps I have tried:
    • Move keyboard and mouse to different USB ports.
    • Try different keyboard or mouse.
    • Restart computer, repeatedly.
    • Google for related issues.
    • Update Bios, because why not.
    • Create boot media and revert to windows 7.
The windows 10 system restore boot media works fine with keyboard and mouse. All USB ports work in windows 7. I don't know what is wrong. I suspect that windows 10 is lacking a driver of some sort, but since the computer accepts no input I have no way of checking for which driver let alone installing it.

Please help me figure this out. If I have to revert back to windows 7 again, I am not going to get it upgraded to windows 10. Thank you in advanced.

Windows 10 upgrade problem, no input accepted

i've seen this when the stock USB drivers went kaput. Only ever seen it once - i used a PCI USB 2.0 card and connected the mouse and keyboard to that, and manually updated the USB 2/USB 3 drivers.

Keyboard not working after Windows 10 Update

    Hi,

    Have you tried updating
your mouse and keyboard driver? If not, we suggest you to do so. There is a possibility that the driver is not compatible with the new Windows 10 update. However, one
of the workarounds that we suggest for your mouse and keyboard to work is to update the driver. If the symptom persist, you can run the Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter. To run the Troubleshooter, follow these steps:

    • On your search bar, type
      Troubleshooting.

    • Change the view to
      View all.

    • Choose
      Hardware and Devices
      and run the troubleshooter.

Let us know how it goes.

    Regards.
